Renewable Energy and Energy Communities

Building resilient communities through clean, local, and citizen-driven energy solutions

This strand explores how communities can become more resilient and self-sufficient by using renewable energy and working together through local energy communities. It focuses on how citizens, local authorities, and organisations can take an active role in producing and managing clean energy at the local level.

Participants will discover how renewable energy can help address climate change, energy security, and rising energy costs while strengthening local cooperation and community resilience. Through real-life examples and practical workshops, the strand shows how local initiatives can support European priorities such as the European Green Deal and the transition to clean and fair energy systems.

By learning from inspiring communities across Europe, participants will gain practical knowledge and ideas on how to introduce renewable energy solutions and build Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) in their own local context.
