The Smart Village Network (SVN)

The Smart Village Network (SVN) was set up in 2018, as a network of rural communities (municipalities, villages, towns, etc.) as core members; and LEADER LAGs, village groups and village associations as associated members across

Europe. The network aims to enable the sharing of ideas and experience among its members, build capacity, and make the voices of villages heard in policymaking. Join the SVN!

The Smart Village Network Services

The Smart Village Network Services has been operated by E40 Europe since 2018, until its setup as a non-profit international association (AISBL) in Belgium in 2025 (E40 Europe being one of its founding members). The SVNS provides the services for the network, including membership building, organisation of events, one-to-one

technical support, capacity-building, preparation and coordination of joint applications, and administrative matters. The Smart Village Network Services (E40) has been a member of the Rural Pact Coordination Group since 2023, representing the interest of the SVN and of its members in the Rural Pact. Several SVN members are also members of the Rural Pact community. You can also join the Smart Villages Community Group here.
