Rural Community Support

Rural Community Support

SVNS provides support to SVN members, to help advance smart village strategies and initiatives. Support include one-to-one consultations and advice, sharing of relevant practices and joint proposals for open calls with members as partners.

SVNS services to communities

One-to-one support:

Drawing on the experience of its founding member E40 (which coordinated the Smart Rural 21 and Smart Rural 27 initiatives), SVNS offers tailored one-to-one support to rural communities in developing smart village strategies and implementing smart solutions aligned with their local priorities. If your community is seeking one-to-one guidance for Smart Villages implementation - from strategy development to new ideas and technical expertise—please get in touch with us using the form below.

Match-making:

Rural community representatives are most inspired when learning from their peers. We can help you identify the right partner communities or experts for your planned or ongoing initiatives. Over the years, we have worked with a wide range of rural communities and specialists in areas such as renewable energy, housing, local entrepreneurship, youth engagement, and more. We offer one-to-one consultations (contact us through the form below) and can also help you find your ideal ‘match’ online via the SVN Database. Join the network to access full community profiles, including their challenges, assets, and implemented solutions. Becoming a member is easy - get in touch with us through the form below and we will guide you through the next steps.

Joint proposals:

We regularly coordinate project proposals in response to a wide range of EU funding calls - including Horizon Europe, LIFE, and Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) - and we also join proposals led by others when this aligns with the interests of our members. Our key objective is to position rural communities as direct partners in these proposals, enabling them to access EU funding directly while strengthening their capacity to apply for funding and implement their own initiatives. To support this, we frequently circulate surveys to explore communities’ interests in specific topics and involve them in upcoming proposals. If you would like to be added to our mailing list or have an idea you wish to discuss further, please contact us using the form below. We are also increasingly using the ‘Cooperation’ function of the SVN Database to reach out to members for joint funding applications. Become a member and complete the community form - including your cooperation interests - so we can identify the right opportunities for you!

SVN Communities database

The growing SVN Communities Database opens up new cooperation opportunities by allowing users to search community profiles based on their challenges, assets, solutions, and cooperation offers. Network members have full access to all details within the database, which is regularly updated by communities with support from the SVNS team.
