From 13–15 July 2026, the SURE Project brought together around 30 participants from Hungary and several other European countries for a three-day Workshop on Sustainable Gardening and Farming in Gömörszőlős, Hungary. The event was hosted by the Ecological Institute Foundation and formed part of the project's learning activities, creating an opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and discover practical approaches to sustainable rural development.
The workshop combined expert presentations, discussions, and field visits, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore ecological gardening in practice. The highlight of the workshop was the opportunity to learn from Iván Gyulai, whose decades of experience and deep understanding of ecological systems inspired many valuable discussions. Beyond the technical programme, the workshop strengthened connections between partners and stakeholders from across Europe. Participants returned home with new ideas, practical knowledge and valuable contacts.
The SURE Project continues to promote mutual learning and the exchange of good practices between European partners, supporting local initiatives that contribute to more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive rural communities. The workshop was organised within the framework of the SURE Project, co-funded by the European Union through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme.
