Organisation overview

Ținutul Bârsei Local Action Group (LAG) is located in Brașov County, in central Romania, covering a diverse rural territory at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. The LAG includes several communes and villages characterized by rich cultural heritage, strong agricultural traditions, and valuable natural landscapes. The area benefits from proximity to the city of Brașov while maintaining a distinct rural identity. The LAG plays an active role in supporting local development through initiatives that encourage entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, rural tourism, and community-led projects. By facilitating access to European funding and fostering partnerships among public authorities, private stakeholders, and civil society, the LAG contributes to improving quality of life and economic resilience in the region. Innovative and sustainable actions in the area include the promotion of short food supply chains, support for local producers, development of eco-tourism, and the integration of digital tools in rural services. We are also committed to advancing “smart village” principles by encouraging digitalization, community engagement, and environmentally responsible practices.
